Tor-tor dance is a dance typical of the Batak, North Sumatra. Precisely Mandailing. This dance moves in time with the music (magondangi) played using traditional instruments such as gondang, flute, trumpet hobo, and others.
Tor-tor dance was used in rituals associated with spirits. Spirit is invoked and the "entry" into the stone statues (a symbol of the ancestors). The sculptures are then moved like dancing, but with a rigid motion. Movement in the form of leg movements (tiptoe-tiptoe) and hand movements.
