Sekapur Sirih Dance

Sekapur Sirih Dance, is a dance to welcome the guests in Jambi Province. This dance describes the expression of liver white community in welcoming guests. Sekapur Sirih 9 people usually danced by female dancers, 3 male dancers, one person in charge of carrying an umbrella and 2 guards.
The property used is Cerano or container containing betel leaf, an umbrella, a dagger. This dance wear baju kurung or custom Jambi Malay style and musical accompaniment by musical instrument consisting of fiddle, harp, accordion, tambourine, gong and drum.
