Gadang clock built in 1926 as a gift from the Queen of the Netherlands to Rook Maker, secretary or controleur Fort de Kock (now the city of Bukittinggi) during the reign of India-Netherlands. The architecture of the clock tower was designed by Sutan Yazin Teeth Ameh, while laying the first stone done by first son Rook Maker which at the time was still 6 years old.
